Gem Diamonds has stated that construction at the mine site at Gope will start this year, with diamond production set to commence in 2013 at an initial rate of 100,000 carats per annum, increasing over time to a 'peak steady state' production of 780,000 carats per annum.

Against this backdrop, we made some upwards revisions to our copper production and export forecasts earlier in the year to reflect this new output from Boseto and we have also now made an upwards buick revision to our diamond production and export forecasts to take account of Lucara's higher output from the AK06 mine from 2012 onwards and Gem's higher output from 2013 onwards.

Diamonds continue to be the mainstay of Botswanan mining at present, with figures from the Bank of Botswana released in February 2011 showing a 39% increase in diamond exports over 2010, to reach US$3.01bn.

Botswana Still Favoured By BMI

Botswana remains the highest-rated African country in our Business Environment Rankings for Q311, with a score of 66.7 points out of 100. The country has a stable political situation and a well-developed mining sector, backed up by a sound regulatory framework.

Moreover, tax rates remain relatively low on a regional basis and the country has relatively flexible labour regulations, which should also bolster growth. Our positive view on Botswanan mining is shared by the influential Fraser Institute, which has placed Botswana in 14th place (out of 79 jurisdictions) in its Policy Potential index, as contained within its Survey of Mining Companies 2010/11, published in March 2011. Botswana saw an increase in its score to 74, up from 66.5 in the previous year. In terms of current mineral potential (assuming current regulations and land use restrictions), Botswana was ranked 7th out of 79, underlining the substantial mineral base that is ready to be developed in country.

Country Overview

Exploitation of rich mineral reserves, especially diamonds, has been a significant driver of Botswana's economic growth. Diamonds, along with copper and nickel, are major focus areas in metal and mineral exploration, and earn more than three-quarters of the country's export revenues. More recently, coal and uranium have also emerged as key future revenue generators for the Botswanan mining industry.

New Market Research Report: Mexico Mining Report 2011

PRLog (Press Release)– Jun 20, 2011– BMI believes the outlook is bright for the Mexican mining sector in 2011 and beyond. We are forecasting average annual growth of 6.43% in the value of the mining sector over the coming five years, to reach a value of US$156.6bn by 2015. There are several world-class mining projects being developed in the country, with around 740 active exploration projects also currently being undertaken.

According to the head of Camimex (Mexico's Chamber of Mines), Sergio Almazan, revenues from Mexican mining for 2010 are expected to have surpassed US$13bn, which would make mining the country's third-largest generator of revenue (after oil and remittances from abroad). Furthermore, Almazan believes that total investment in Mexican mining over the 2007-12 auto part period will stand at more than US$21bn: a 'historical high' for the sector.

Increases in metal production ahead

Against this propitious backdrop, we are forecasting sharp increases in metal production. We believe that overall Mexican silver production can increase by around 14% over the coming five years, boosted by output from Fresnillo's new Saucito mine. Fresnillo has estimated 2011 silver production from Saucito at 4.7mn oz in 2011, rising to 9.2mn oz by 2014. Gold production is also forecast to rise by just over 30% over the same period, as a spate of new projects come onstream, including Yamana Gold's Mercedes gold/silver project in Sonora state.

For copper, we believe that the end of the three-year long strike at Grupo Mexico's Cananea mine has now set the scene for a sharp increase in output over our forecast period to 2015. In Q111, Grupo Me < bmw a href="http://todaynewsmatic.com/category/corsa">corsa xico outlined plans to increase copper output at Cananea to 450ktpa (thousand tonnes per annum) by 2015, from 150ktpa in 2011. This has led us to revise our forecasts significantly higher over the period to 2015.

The announced increase from Cananea alone will result in a threefold increase in Mexico's copper output and easily surpass existing mines' production levels. In addition, Linear Metals plans to produce 55ktpa from its La Morena mine from 2014 and Yale Resources have conducted preliminary scans at its Apache deposit, but have not released any output forecasts. Taking these dynamics into account, we forecast Mexican copper production to increase by an annual average rate of 25.1% over the forecast period, reaching 730ktpa in 2015.

We would caution that there remain certain downside risks to our metal production forecasts. Mexico's growth potential is restricted by continued violence in the country, relating to the drug trade, as well as relatively high levels of corruption and a fairly inflexible labour market. In addition, falling grades are likely to continue to restrict growth at existing mines.

The country's largest mining concern is Grupo Mexico, which owns the massive Cananea mine, which has the largest copper reserves in the world. Other key Mexican mining companies include Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) and Industrias Penoles. Market Report, "Spain Petrochemicals Report Q3 2011", published

PRLog (Press Release)– Jun 18, 2011– Export growth will lead the recovery of the Spanish petrochemicals industry with domestic sales set to remain weak in 2011, according to BMI's latest Spain Petrochemicals Report.

The key elements vital for private consumption to grow - including higher incomes, lower taxes, greater wealth and available consumer credit - will all be lacking in Spain over the medium term, and this will thrust Spanish petrochemicals production into increased export dependency. We have revised down our forecast for Spanish growth in 2011 to 0.7%, from 0.9% previously, on the back of the government's push for major fiscal consolidation this year, which allows for little prospect of recovery. Indeed, aside from exports, we believe it unlikely that any petrochemicals market will recover in 2011. In order to recover competitiveness lost during the boom years and successfully rebalance the economy away from an overreliance on domestic demand, asset prices and real wages will need to be brought down further. As such, we believe that Spanish growth will prove anaemic over the long run, averaging 1.6% through to 2015.

The country remains burdened with low levels of consumer confidence, contraction of credit and rising inflation, all of which are combining to dampen domestic demand. Firms have failed to see a significant rebound in industrial activity, with industrial production growth - a bellwether for the petrochemicals industry - proving flat in recent months. With industrial production remaining well below 2007 levels, and with low capacity utilisation rates, overall demand for petrochemicals products will be capped for the foreseeable future.

BMI believes Spanish petrochemicals production will grow on the back of growth in eurozone markets. The resumption of operations at the PET plant at San Roque, after Compania Espanola de Petroleos (Cepsa) acquired it from La Seda de Barcelona (LSB) in January 2011, is largely in response to declines in imports from Asia, bmw which had undermined domestic production. The plant, which was closed in September 2008, will be integrated with Cepsa's 480,000tpa PTA facility at Guadarraque, creating a captive market for its output. The move should enhance and grow PTA-PET output in 2011. The reopening of the San Roque PET facility comes nearly a year after LSB brought its PET plant at El Prat de Llobregat following a lengthy shutdown.

An increase in PET output, helped by the resumption of production at a PET plant at San Roque, prompts us to raise our chemicals output growth forecast for 2011 from 3.0% to 3.5%. However, this is still lower than the 4.0% growth estimated in 2010 and not enough to offset the 11% decline reported in 2011. Most of the growth seen in 2010 was due to stronger export performance along with domestic polymers restocking activity. Although production has yet to reach pre-crisis levels, revenues from chemicals production grew by around 8.5% in 2010 with a further 6.5% expected in 2011 as prices recover, more than offsetting the 4.1% decline reported in 2009. As such, by end-2011, annual sales could reach around EUR60bn. Exports are leading the recovery, increasing around 17.5% in 2010 to over EUR23bn. In 2011, exports are set to rise by a further 17% to EUR28bn. The fortunes of the Spanish chemicals industry have been far more favourable than the rest of the industrial sector. However, BMI still expects some outdated and smaller plants to be taken offline permanently leading to shrinkage in available production capacity, although continuing restructuring buick efforts.

Spain scores 67.8 points, putting it in sixth place in our Western Europe Petrochemicals Ratings, 1.8 points behind the UK. Its score has improved in recent quarters due to a rise in its country risk score, particularly its long-term external risk.

The UMP Pro Crate Late Model division point fund will take place over three days at three different tracks. Lincoln Speedway, Macon Speedway and Spoon River Speedway have teamed up to bring the point fund for the Pro Crate Late Model division drivers. The Pro Crate Late Models will compete at Lincoln Speedway on Thursday, June 16, then at Macon Speedway on Friday, June 17 and then finish on Saturday, June 18 at Spoon River Speedway. At the end of the three races the points will be tallied for all three events and the top UMP Pro Crate Late Model will be awarded a $300 bonus; second place will receive $200 and the third place point's winner will receive $100.

The UMP Billing android application sley Towing Modifieds will compete for a $600 point fund also which will take place over three days at two different tracks. Each track will pay $600 to win each feature. Lincoln Speedway and Macon Speedway have teamed up to bring the point fund for the UMP Billingsley Towing Modified division drivers. The UMP Billingsley Towing Modifieds will compete at Lincoln Speedway on Thursday, June 16, then at Macon Speedway on Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18. At the end of the three rac goverment technology es the points will be tallied for all three events and the top UMP Modified will be awarded their bonus' in the same way the Pro Crate Late Models will get theirs.

Nascar star and Macon Speedway co-owner Ken Schrader will be at the track on Saturday to compete in the UMP Billingsley Towing Modified division events. The second annual Building Systems of IL Mini Sprint Nationals will be sure to keep you on the edge of your seats this weekend. The 2011 POWRi National 600cc Micro Sprint Series will compete in automobile news a three day event at the Lincoln Speedway on Thursday, June 16, then at the lightning qui bmw M5 specification ck Macon Speedway in Macon, IL on Friday, June 17, and Saturday, June 18. The High School Hornet division will lead the way on Friday night as all three divisions of Hornets will compete along with the Mini Sprints and Pro Crate Late Models. The POWRi Midgets will thrill the fans of Macon Speedway on Saturday night along with the Touchstone Energy Sportsman, Billingsley Towing Modifieds and Street Stocks. The POWRi cars should put on quite a display when they roll into both towns; as well over 100 cars each day are expected to battle it out.
