APB-DynaSonics Multitasks at Jazzfest

PRLog (Press Release)– Jul 29, 2011– The 2011 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, also known as Jazzfest, recently wrapped up another successful run with 12 stages cranking out music for an estimated 400,000 fans.  One of the most popular stages, the Fais Do Do, featured mostly traditional Zydeco an alfa romeo d Cajun acts, although this year several indie acts such as the Decemberists were added just to keep things even more interesting. Chris Brown, whose company, New Orleans based SOUNd CHeK, handled sound for the s auto part tage. Two APB-DynaSonics Spectra Ti consoles, one for FOH and one for monitors were brought into service. Mike Montero manned the FOH board and Brown oversaw monitors.

The Spectra-Ti is APB's high-end analog console with VCA control on inputs and outputs, mono/stereo/3-speaker LCR monitoring, 10 aux sends, and versatile output and matrixing capabilities. Each of the four bands on the EQ section is sweepable.

In addition to setting up, tearing down, and often mixing six bands per day, the crew of HBO's hit show, "Treme", was at the stage with four cameras shooting footage for future episodes.  A submixed 2-track feed was provided by Soundchek via the APB console at FOH.

This was analog console mixing at its fullest-no flash drives here. Being able to look at faders and knobs in real time was an advantage. Brown cadillac , who has a 32-year history at Jazzfest s car news tated, "This stage is not that big and many of the acts have lots of players, instrumentation and gear. Getting the previous band off the stage quickly is the challenge. There is no sound check and the person mixing has half a song to get it right. In these conditions with this variety of acts, digital consoles can actually slow things down. Also, the dynamics run from quiet acoustic performances to full-on Zydeco, which can be deafening at times. Visiting sound mixers appreciated being able to quickly and easily see what was going on with faders and knobs."  Montero, once he caught his breath, says, "It was nothing but happy people!"

Trinkler and RSR Motorsports Successfully Defend Title with Emotional Win at NJMP

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 26, 2011 – P1 Groupe driver Owen Trinkler and the rest of the #198 RSR Mini Cooper S Team returned to New Jersey Motorsports Park last weekend for the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series Race with extremely high hopes as it was the site of the team's last victory. The team also came in this weekend with heavy hearts as the team still mourned the loss of Team Owner Randy Smalley's wife a few weeks ago, and they were looking for a memorial victory for the Smalley Family.

As every other weekend the #198 came off the truck fast, and Trinkler's co-driver Sarah Cattaneo was called upon to qualify the car for the race. She did a phenomenal job with a third place qualifying run. Catta automobile news neo started the race and kept the Mini Cooper S near the top half of the field before entering pit lane to hand the clean car over to Trinkler. Trinkler then began to do what he has done all of his career by running exceptionally quick lap times as well as beginning to pick  his way through the field and eventually making a pass on the Mazda to take the lead the away. A late race accident caused the race to end under caution, but gave Trinkler and the RSR Team their first victory of the season, Catteneo's first professional victory, back-to-back wins at NJMP, and the victory dedicated to the Smalleys.

"RSR Motorsports is a family oriented team, and everybody I'm sure by now knows of the loss of Team Owner Randy Smalley's wife a few weeks ago, and it's great to get this victory for him and his family as well as getting Sarah's first professional win. Mitsubishi’s i-MiEV Electric Vehicle at the Melbourne International Motor Show

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 26, 2011 – Attendees at the Melbourne show will also have the opportunity to experience the i-MiEV first hand by participating in the Mitsubishi i-MiEV test program.  The program will invite members of the public to get up close and personal with the i-MiEV in a chauffeur driven ride in the streets around the motor show. MMAL has assigned three vehicles to the test program for the entire duration of the show, ensuring that environmentally aware consumers will have plenty of opportunities to road test the innovative city commuter.

While the vehicles on the test program and on display at the show will be the current model, MMAL has just announced the new 2012 model – which features a host of safety and comfort specification upgrades – will arrive in Australia in a matter of weeks.

And the best news of all is that the 2012 model will be the first-ever all electric vehicle available on the Australian market for both private and corporate owners to purchase outright.

The i-MiEV, which stands for Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle, first arrived in Australia in July last year, when 110 were leased to local, state and federal governments and selected innovative organisations, prompting a large number of public enquiries.

The European-styled upgrades to the MY12 i-MiEV's exterior include a larger rear bumper mustang car which adds a stylish finish and complements the vehicle's smooth lines. Auto Lighting control and Multimode Keyless entry complete the upgrades to the 2012 model and enhance the overall i-MiEV experience.

The i-MiEV is available in six stylish colours; White, Black, Cool Silver, Ocean Blue, Raspberry Red and Titanium Grey.

Test Drive Adds up to Cash for Fairview Elementary

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 22, 2011 – Logansport, IN– July 22, 2011– Friends, families and staff of Fairview Elementary School participated in a Chrysler Drive for Kids™ fundraiser during their end of the year picnic on May 20.  While the students were having fun playing games and eating hot dogs, the adults got behind the wheel of a new Chrysler for a test drive. The Chrysler Corporation gave the school $10 for each test drive which allowed the school to add $840.00 to their new playground fund.  

"We were excited to bring seven new Chrysler products to the event, including the Town and County first drive audi a6 miniva mustang car n that is so popular with young families," said Terry Osborn, general manager of Mike Anderson Chrysler Dodge Super Center.  "But this was mostly an easy opportunity to help raise money to support Fairview Elementary School."

"We would like to thank everyone who participated!  We were able to get 84 test-drives in a three-hour period," said Fairview Elementary Principal Chris Hess.  "The event brought us closer to making our dream of a new playground closer to reality."   In an effort to get as many test drives as possible, Principal Hess and Mike Anderson Chrysler Dodge Super Center turned the event into a competition between classrooms. Mr. Miller's fifth graders won a pizza party by bringing the most parents, grandparents and friends to take test drives.

Koch earns 2nd straight Rookie of the Race award in New Hampshire

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 19, 2011 – LOUDON, NH –  Florida's Blake Koch continued his trek towards the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year title with another impressive run aboard the Daystar Television Network #81 Dodge in Loudon, New Hampshire Saturday afternoon. Taking to the Magic Mile for the first time in his racing career, Koch drove to his second consecutive Rookie of the Race Award with an 18th place finish in the New England 200.

"Loudon was a great point's weekend," said Koch. "I'm really happy with everyone on the Daystar team. This was another new track for me and we worked hard all weekend for this result. If we can keep this going we're going to have a great shot at winning the Rookie of the Year title. I'm not sure what it did to the Rookie standings just yet but we definitely closed in on it."

For Koch, the weekend started off with its s goverment technology hare of challenges prior to Saturday's race with tough performances in both practice and qualifying where he timed in 25th on the 1.058 mile oval in the Granite State. It was then that the Daystar Racing Team and MacDonald Motorsports did what they do best when they tightened their belts and went to work on the #81 Dodge Challenger to perfect it in the early laps of the event to gain valuable track position.

"Practice and qualifying didn't go as good as we would have liked," said Koch. "But the guys worked super hard to improve the car during the race and get us that top 20 finish. I'm really happy with the way the weekend turned out."

Following the guidance of his longtime spotter Chris Monez, Koch displayed great patience as he traveled around Loudon's unique surface for the first time in his racing career. Starting 25th, he later faded back as far as the 31st position and benefited from a series of well executed pit stops which began gaining him track position just when it counted the most.

With just 15 laps remaining in the race, Koch had rallied back into the top 25 positions and made the best of the final sprint to the finish. Advancing an impressive five positions during the final laps, Koch worked himself into the 18th position prior to the waving of the checkered flag.

Entering Saturday's race, Koch was just nine points behind Rookie of the Year point leader Timmy Hill. Hill finished 23rd in the event and now the contest for the coveted title is getting hotter than ever. Saturday was Koch's fourth top 20 finish of the season and marked his fifth Sunoco Rookie of the Race Award. The finish was the second best finish at Loudon for the MacDonald Motorsports team and the best finish in the last seven years. Previously, Kevin Lepage drove the team to a 15th place position in 2004.

Now, Koch will focus on carrying his recent strong performances into a third consecutive week as he heads to Nashville Superspeedway this Saturday for the Federated Auto Parts 300. Not only will Koch be blessed with the momentum of two consecutive Rookie of the Race Awards, he will be returning to a track he has already raced on this season.

Back in April of this year, Koch made his first start of his career at Nashville. He started 30th in the event and drove his way to 25th at the finish line. Throughout much of the 2011 racing season nearly every track Koch has competed on has been new turf for the rookie driver in his first season of NASCAR's Nationwide League. Prior to coming into the series Koch had raced in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West and numerous events aboard late models and speedway trucks on the east coast.

"I feel better going into Nashville than I have ever felt all year long," said Koch. "I am finally going to a track for the second time. We are running the car we raced in Kentucky and that was a good car. The ŠKODA Yeti's (http://www.skoda.com.au/yeti/) overall length of 4,223 millimetres allows drivers to fit into those parking spaces that are far from generous, while its width of 1,793 millimetres guarantees that the doors can be opened wide in tight spots.

Developers of the Yeti believe that the compact SUV class can only achieve lasting success with an environmentally sound and affordable engine strategy. Therefore, the Yeti's engine range is based on ŠKODA's downsizing strategy, reducing capacity while at the same time increasing performance, thanks to highly-sophisticated forced induction. The engine range includes a petrol and diesel, both with their own sets of advantages.

The two-wheel drive Yeti is powered by the 1.2-litre TSI petrol Infiniti m hybird engine delivering 77kW and 175Nm between 1,550 and 4,100rpm. This engine is paired with the innovative seven-speed DSG transmission (or six-speed manual).

The Yeti 4x4 is powered by the economical 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine with 103kW and 320Nm from 1,750 - 2,500rpm. It comes with a six-speed DSG transmission (or six-speed manual).

The ŠKODA Yeti bears attributes typical of the brand and gives the new compact SUV (http://www.skoda.com.au/) a clear family identity.

This means the evocative rib-shaped grille with the distinct chrome surround and the ŠKODA logo centred above. Additional lights, sited 'inside' the headlights, provide the Yeti with character, lending the front end a friendly look. The side view is dominated by clean lines, the distinct wheelarches and wings confer on the compact SUV a unique character, while the lower body protective panels are classic hallmarks of a vehicle with off-road capability. The black C pillars and standard roof rails round off the robust shape. The rear design is just as unfussy: the rear lights are C-shaped and 2011 Chrysler 200 Convertible the smooth, vertical tailgate opens easily and far upwards, allowing ni ssan GTR specification easy access to the boot.

The ŠKODA Yeti achieved the highest rating of five stars in the independent Euro NCAP crash tests. Thanks to the use of high-strength steel, the Yeti's passenger cell offers a strong survival space for driver and passengers in the event of an accident. The Yeti also gives vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians, high levels of protection in a collision as the bonnet is designed to absorb on impact. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is standard on all Yetis (including ABS, EBD, ASR and Hill Hold Control) while seven airbags (which includes a driver's knee airbag) protect passengers in the event of an accident.
